The Vigado of Pest could also be called the cradle of the capital, as this building was the birthplace of Budapest Hungary’s new capital. On October 25, 1873, the inaugural assembly of the new, united council of the capital was held here, and the three cities of Buda, Pest and Óbuda were merged.
